We are delighted to offer a new hymn for Pope Benedict XVI.

Taking the first line of the Cardinal Wiseman's hymn only, the authors have completely rewritten this hymn and a new tune has been written for it as well.

The idea was that the new tune would be more prayerful and closer to a plainsong melody than the original tune.

With the forthcoming visit of Pope Benedict to the UK this autumn, the authors and composer have agreed to offer this hymn FREE OF CHARGE if downloaded from this site.

It seems to us that in these difficult times, the Holy Father is in greater need than ever of our prayers.  The hymn is most suitable as a prayer for the Pope.

As well as singing this hymn throughout the year, we would also encourage congregations especially to sing it at around 29th June, the Feast of Ss Peter & Paul.
